Bobby and Susie Bonds

Address:  Concord, NC

Email:  bbonds@vnet.net

Car(s):  1969 SS

I had the 69 ordered in November 1968 while I was in Viet Nam. It was due to be delivered in early December upon my return from VN but due to the GM strike it was not delivered until the second week of January 1969.

I drove the 69 daily until 1972 while attending college. After a succession of other cars including the Corvette, a 1966 VW, a 1974 Chevelle, a 1978 Z-28, and a 1982 Z-28, (and a later a 1985 IROC) the 69 was parked in 1982. It was not driven again until this past month

A frame-off restoration was done locally in Concord this past year bringing it back to original condition. The car is a matching numbers car with a 396 / 325 hp engine, four-speed transmission, and deluxe interior.
