2007 Christmas for Kids Cruise Recap Each year the Carolina Camaro Association holds a Christmas Cruise for Kids Show to benefit the Shriner's Childrens Hospital in Greenville, SC. For 2007, the event was held on November 17th at the Hendrick Motorsports facility near Lowe's speedway. There was a record 302 cars registered under the clear, Carolina blue sky. Awards included the special clutch plate award for the top 100 cars, Top Dog (Best of Show), Best Ford/GM/Mopar/Import, and Best Interior/Engine/Paint/Modified. Hendrick Motorsports picked the car of their choice and a young enthusiast received the Young Gun award. Donation and toy collections resulted in $5500.00 in toys for delivery to the Children's Hospital. We would like to extend a special thanks to both Kmart and Walmart in Conover for their support and assistance in purchasing these toys. CCA made the delivery of the toys on a rainy 11/26, but there was nothing but smiles and goodwill as the children selected their toys. The Greenville News made mention of this delivery on their website, http://www.upstatelink.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071126/NEWS01/71126011/1166/UPSTATELINK. Meeting in Gastonia and police escort to Greenville: Unloading ALL the toys! Special thanks to NBC Channel 4 in Greenville,SC, for covering the event:
